The
Australia Zoo is located on the Sunshine Coast. It's approximately a 60 minute drive from Brisbane. It is home to the original crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin. It is an absolutely incredible zoo unlike anything else. First off, the zoo has so much land. The animals have plenty of space to roam around and are some of the happiest I've seen. The Australian Zoo beats out all other zoos because of how interactive it is. You can go pet and feed kangaroos and then also add on a giraffe experience to feed a giraffe and if you're lucky, hold a koala
The meerkats were adorable and used my head as a lookout tower,
the Zoo is home to one of the most beautiful rhinos I’ve ever seen. His name is DJ and he’s just so incredible. I felt honored being able to get so close to him.
Wes, Darren, and Nadine. They are the loveliest people and we had an incredible time seeing all of the animals and hearing stories and history of the Zoo.
One of the highlights of the Zoo is the
Crocoseum. It is the perfect arena showcasing the Crocodiles of the Zoo. I was kept on the edge of my seat as I watched the crocs move about and get so close to the hosts of the show.
I love the Australian Zoo and love the conservation efforts they make to preserve this beautiful world and its wildlife. To check out more on their conservation efforts or to get involved, check out
Wildlife Warriors.
A huge thank you to everyone at Australia Zoo for making my visit so magical and leaving me with fond memories that I’ll never forget.
