Claremont Club & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel in Berkeley, California

Location: Berkeley, CA

Claremont Hotel Website

Entrance to the hotel 🏰

Overlooking the San Francisco Bay, Claremont Club & Spa in Berkeley sets new heights in service, amenities, and accommodations. For the past 100 years, Claremont has been recognized as an icon in the Bay Area. Conveniently located in the heart of Berkeley, the hotel is only a 20-minute drive from downtown San Francisco. Private parking is available. Its 276 beautifully appointed rooms offer a mix of old world charm and California comfort, many boasting breathtaking views of San Francisco.

Lobby of the hotel. A recent 40 million dollar renovation gives the hotel a modern feel while still retaining its old charm.

Wearing a Spell By Byron Bay dress. I absolutely love their clothing and have been buying a lot from them lately. They are an amazing and high quality Australian bohemian clothing company.

Enjoying the view. There are quite a few lounge areas around the hotel to take in the atmosphere and the views.

Loved this sparkly bench in the lobby ✨

The Claremont Hotel was once a private residence during the gold rush era, but was transformed into a hotel by the year 1915.

A vintage photo of the hotel printed onto plates.

After walking through the lobby and getting to the back entrance, this is the beautiful view of the hotel

Views to the city of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the tower of the hotel. The hotel being on a hill makes for amazing views and feels more like a castle than a hotel building.

Taking in the view 🌉 Dress by one of my favorites, Free People.

A little organic garden planted by Michelle Obama. The First Lady and many other political figures have visited Claremont over the years.

The tower of the hotel. My favorite photo of the day. Can you spot me? I’m on the balcony 🙋🏼 to the left are views all the way to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge and to the right are views of the hotel and guest rooms.

Olympic sized pool. Part of the Claremont club. Beautiful. 🏊🏊🏼‍♀️🏅

Tennis courts and another view of the tower and hotel. There are quite a few tennis courts on property for the hotel and club guests. 🎾

Overlooking the tower. Felt like a princess in this shot. Love the round tower on the left and the entire view of the Claremont including the main tower.

A game of chess. Chess and checkers are a theme throughout the hotel. One of the original owners put the property on the line by betting it in a game of checkers and unfortunately lost to his opponent, losing the property entirely.

Love the black and white theme of the pool area. Very swanky and reminds me of Chanel, one of my favorites.

It’s been a long time since I’ve played! Wearing a Chanel dress and trying my luck.

Flowers throughout the grounds 🌺

Loved the touch of the American flag atop the tower. So powerful and beautiful. This property makes such a statement. It’s so tranquil and serene. A must do and all around great place to visit. I got to discover this area and the town surrounding it and was very grateful that I did. To anyone visiting Northern California, I definitely recommend going to the Clairemont Hotel and Spa.

I had such a great time at this magical place.
A special thank you to Tara for all of her knowledge of the property and for showing me around. Also to Brandon Sloter for the amazing photography.

Stay tuned for more blog posts 🙂
Love,

Crystal
